Occupational Therapy Home Visit

What Happens during an Occupational Therapy Home Visit?

Our Occupational Therapist will carry out an assessment in your place of proposed residence initially taking into account any recent illness or injury. They will ensure that your living space was as safe as possible while enabling you to remain as independent as possible. In addition our therapist will assess you and any current specialised equipment (e.g. chairs, splints) to ascertain if they are suitable to sustain or improve your level of independence.

A detailed report will then be provided sometimes recommending alterations to your living space (e.g. grab rails, ramps etc.) or a recommendation for specialised equipment or furniture. A follow up trial of equipment will often be arranged.
