Mark founded Fit For Life in 2001. He now manages a multi-disciplinary healthcare team committed to continuing research and development of healthcare services for the adult and ageing population. Over the years he has developed a great deal of experience and expertise in the assessment and treatment of age-related injuries and conditions.

He is continuously attending and has presented at numerous conferences on the benefits of physical activity in the ageing population and has lead implementation of best practice models into Fit For Life’s training and services.

Recent areas of research and development that Mark is involved in included the development of software to reduce the risks of falls and tele-rehabilitation.

His qualifications include a BSc from University College Dublin and MSc in Exercise Physiology from Trinity College Dublin in 2000. He has since qualified as a Physical Therapist and obtained a BSc in Applied Health studies at the Institute of Physical Therapy and Applied Science. He is a current member of the Irish Association of Physical Therapists.

Jessie started with Fit For Life in 2002 and became a Director in 2003 when she expanded the company into Munster. Jessie has an MSc in Exercise Physiology and has completed specialist courses in Postural Stability and Exercise after Stroke. She is also a Manual Handling Instructor.

Her areas of speciality are in falls management and manual handling. She is passionate about managing the company’s development in CPD and keeping up to date with recent evidence and practices that relate to improving client services. This has given her opportunities to get direct experience in research facilities and most recently with The Falls and Balance Research Group in Neuroscience Research Australia. They are leading researchers in understanding physical and cognitive decline in older people, falls prediction and prevention.

Fit For Life consists of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Every Fit For Life therapist has reached Fit For Life accredited therapist status and has met the exacting standards set by us. They will have successfully completed all Fit For Life specialized training courses in areas including: Age related physical and rehabilitation therapy, Exercise therapy for older adults, Falls prevention and Advanced people manual handling. All our therapists are full practicing members of their respective Irish healthcare associations and are passionate about delivering evidenced-based services to Older Adults.
