Exercise Instructor for the Older Adult Course - Foundation Level (3 Days) 

 

This workshop is suitable for Activity Co-Ordinators, Healthcare Assistants or home carers with an enthusiasm to deliver group exercise therapy. We educate you or a team member on the key principles of exercise programming, using taught programmes and equipment. You will learn how to set up a class and what systems are needed to ensure its safety and continuation.

 

Participants will leave this course with the knowledge and confidence to run an effective exercise class and if they choose to progress into different areas, we have other courses to suit that training choice. 

Outline:

  • Introduction to physical activity & exercise guidelines for older adults

  • Benefits of exercise and exercise guidelines for older adults

  • Individual components – group type, session structure, basic anatomy

  • Safety considerations

  • Exercise and Dementia

  • Practical Exercise Delivery

 

Duration: 3 day course. Certified 24 CPD points.

Venue: This 'in-person live' course will be completed in-house at your Nursing Home or Care Centre, or at our Training Centre and Clinic In Sandyford.
