Falls Risk Factors & Best Practice  Interventions (Online)

Overview

The falls risk factors and best practice intervention module is an interactive online learning module which provides the learner with knowledge of current falls facts and prevalent data.

Review questions are included throughout the module and content navigation tools aim to keep the learner engaged in the learning process along with downloadable PDFs with more in depth information in areas such as falls risk increasing drugs (FRIDs). 

 

Six risk factors will be described in detail, with interactive examples of what effects these risk factors have on individuals that lead to an increase in falls risk. From this you will be taught what interventions are best used to manage these.

This course will benefit anyone who wants to develop a greater understanding of the main falls risk factors in a healthcare or community setting.​

  • Demographics and prevalence of falls

  • Definitions and categorisations of falls

  • The main causes and consequences of falls

  • In depth identification and analysis of the main independent falls risk factors for older adults

  • Implementation of current best practice interventions to reduce falls

  • Importance of education in falls reduction

 

Duration: 2-2.5 hours,  Certified 2 CPD points

 

Venue: Online at a time of your choice for 7 days after enrolment
